Lentil pancakes/ Moong dal cheela





















































This is a healthy pancake high in proteins and carbohydrates.




Ingredients


Moong dal/  Green gram  –  1 1/4 cups.


Bengal gram / Chana dal   –  2 tbsp


Green chillies chopped       –  2 tsp


Ginger chopped                  –  2 tsp


Salt to taste


Asafoetida                            – a pinch


Coriander leaves chopped      – 2 tbsp


Vegetable oil for frying





For the filling


Paneer chopped     –  1 cup


Coriander leaves chopped – 2 tbsp


Salt to taste


Method    


Soak moong dal and chana dal for two hours.  Grind moong dal, chana dal , green chillies and ginger to get a dosa like smooth batter. Mix the batter with salt, asafoetida, and coriander leaves in a bowl. Keep aside.


For the filling-  Mix all the ingredients together and keep aside.


Heat a non stick pan and brush oil, add 1 1/2 tbsp batter and spread. Add 2 tsp oil around the side of the pancake and cook till light golden brown. Flip and leave for 30 seconds. Flip again.


Place 1 tbsp cottage cheese filling, fold and serve hot.

  1. I have eaten besan ka cheela, never tried moong dal ka cheela. Should try this.
    By the By, the presentation my goodness, how do you create such intriguing looks. I think it is because of your arts & crafts interest. Anyways, very nice recipe.
