Mulaku bajji/ Banana pepper fritters

 
    Ingredients
    Bajji mulaku /Fry Banana   – 8 nos
   
     Besan flour/Kadala mavu – 1 cup

     Rice flour                             – 2 tsp

    Turmeric powder                 –  a pinch

    Chilli powder                        –  1/2 tsp

    Asafoetida                             – 1/4 tsp

    Salt to taste

    Oil  for frying

    Method
    Make a thick batter of  besan flour, rice powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt. The        consistency should be that of a dosa batter. Wash and pat dry the chillies. Make a slit in between. (Don’t open it completely, ends of the chillies should be intact).

   Heat oil in a kadai, dip the chillies in the batter and fry on both sides to get a crispy texture and golden brown colour.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
