Beetroot halwa

Ingredients 

Beetroot  grated   – 1 kg

Sugar             – 2 1/2cups

Milk             – 1/2 liter

water           – 1 cup

Cashew nuts   –  1 tbsp

Raisins           – 1 tbsp

Ghee       – 100 gm

Cardamom crushed – 4 nos

Method
Boil water in a pan and add grated beetroot. place a lid on the pan and boil well until water gets evaporated.
Add sugar and half of the milk. stir constantly until the mixture achieves a thick consistency.Now add ghee
and stir well. add remaining milk and simmer again for  10-20 mint on low heat . Take off the heat and garnish with cashews and raisins.
