This is a Christian snack mostly made during Christmas and Christian weddings. It is prepared in the households
Ingredients
Rice powder -2cups
Coconut milk -11 /2 cup
Grated coconut – 1 /4cup
Jeerakam /cumin seeds -1/ 2tsp
Small onion – 15nos
Garlic – 1 tsp
sesame seeds – 2 tsp
Salt as needed
Oil for frying
Method
Grind grated coconut, shallots, and garlic. Add the ground mixture to the coconut milk and allow them to boil adding salt. Stir well. Now add rice powder. Reduce the heat and mix well. When water is absorbed, add cumin seeds and sesame seeds. Now switch off the stove. Close this with a lid for 5 minutes. Now open the lid and make a dough by mixing it well until smooth. Now make balls out of it and roll it by sprinkling more flour on the surface. Using the cookie cutter, make rounds. Fold it into two as shown in the picture. (Traditionally, they use papaya stem to fold it). Heat oil in a kadhai, kuzalappams should be sinking in the oil while frying, fry little by little. Once cold, put them in airtight containers.
