INGREDIENTS
Soya chunks – 1 cup
Egg – 1 no (optional )
Cornflour – 1 tbsp
Maida – 1 tbsp
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Oil for frying
Onion chopped – 1/2 cup
Ginger chopped – 3 tbsp
Garlic chopped – 1/4 cup
Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp
Tomato sauce – 3/4 cup
Capsicum – 1 cup
Sugar – 1/4 tsp
Salt as needed
INSTRUCTION
Pressure cook soya chunks with required water and salt for 1-2 whistles. Squeeze out the water from soya chunks.
Marinate soya chunks with egg, cornflour, maida, soya sauce, pepper powder, and salt. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Fry soya chunks. Keep this aside.
Heat oil in a pan.
Saute chopped onion, ginger and garlic on a medium flame.
Add red chilli powder soaked in water. Add fried soya chunks, tomato sauce, capsicum, sugar, salt, etc.
If you are looking for a gravy version, mix 1 tbsp cornflour with 1/2 cup of water.
Pour over the curry and boil.
Serve hot with fried rice, noodles, roti etc.
Vegetarians can omit eggs.
I imagine this would be delicious with noodles! Soy chunks are not the healthiest of foods due to the way they are processed (using petrochemicals, plus processed soy may be bad for the thyroid) but I'm sure they are okay as an occasional treat- they certainly go down well in our house 🙂

Its simply superb esp with the chilli flavor. Good that you've stated egg as optional because I will try this dish for our Sat's meatless meals.
