Bhindi Pepper Fry is a quick curry to make with few ingredients easily available at home.
This fry uses okra with a combination of turmeric and pepper powder, which has many health benefits.
It goes well with chapati.
Ingredients
Bhindi / Vendakka / Okra, cut into 3/4 inch long pieces – 250 gm
Onion, sliced – 1 big
Green chili, split – 3
Pepper powder – 2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil – 3 teaspoons
Curry leaves – few
Method
Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and chilies. Saute till the onion becomes transparent. Now add pepper powder and turmeric powder. Saute for a minute. To this, add bhindi and salt. Mix well. Sprinkle some water and close the pan with a lid. Allow it to cook on low heat. Once done, open the lid and fry for a minute.
Serve hot with chapathi and tomato-onion salad.
