Ingredients

Urad dal/uzhunnu parippu – 1/2 cup
Moong dal/cherupayar parippu – 1/2 cup
Rice flour – 1 1/2 cup
Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
Black sesame seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as needed
Oil for frying
Preparation
Pressure cook urad dal and moong dal with 1 1/2 cups of water. Open the pressure cooker and allow it to cool. Now mix rice flour, asafoetida, black sesame seeds, cumin seeds, and salt to make a dough. Place the dough into the mould and start pressing the mould directly into hot oil and fry till golden brown.
