Ingredients
Elephant Yam – 500 gm
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder – 3/4 tsp
Rice flour – 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for fry
Method
Clean and cut yam into square pieces. Pressure cook yam with turmeric powder and little water till one whistle. (No overcooking). Open the pressure cooker and drain the water if any. Marinate yam pieces with chilli powder,coriander powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, rice flour and salt for 1/2 hour. Heat oil in a pan, shallow fry or deep fry the yams. Yam fry goes well with rasam and moru curry.
Yam fry looks delicious, love the addition of rice flour to make it crunchier.
I would love to have this with curd rice or rasam.
