Chilli chicken

Ingredients

Chicken cut in to small  pieces       –    1  kg
Maida ( all  purpose  flour )           –     1  cup
Corn flour                                     –     2 tbs
Egg                                               –     2 no
Chilli powder                                 –    2  tsp
Salt   to taste
oil   for frying
Onion  chopped in big pieces         –   4 medium
Capsicum   chopped                      –    2 nos
Ginger  thinly sliced                        –    1  big piece
Garlic   thinly sliced                        –     8 cloves
Green chilli    chopped                   –     4 no
Spring  onion                                 –    1 /2 cup
Soya sauce                                    –    4 tsp
Chilli sauce                                    –    3 tsp
tomato sauce                                 –    4 tsp
Corn  flour                                     –    3 tsp






Method

Clean and cut the chicken pieces  into small cubes. Make a batter of  maida, cornflour, chilli powder, beaten egg, and salt. Batter should not be runny or else it won’t coat the chicken properly. Marinate the chicken pieces in this batter for 1-2 hours refrigerated. Deep fry the chicken pieces till it turns golden brown.


Heat oil in a pan, add onion, ginger, and garlic. Toss it for a minute. Add green chillies, capsicum, spring onions, and celery. Saute for   2-  3   minutes. Add soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, and salt as required. Add corn flour mixed with 1/2 cup of water and pour this to the pan. Stir in the fried chicken   pieces  and  combine  it  well. Simmer  for 3 minutes and  remove from heat. Garnish with spring onions and celery leaves. This chilli chicken goes well with fried rice and chapathi.
