Kovakka mezhukkupuratti/Ivy gourd stir fry

Kovakka/ Ivy gourd   – 250 gms

Green chilli                –  2 nos

Shallots                      – 1/2 cup

Garlic                          – 2

Curry leaves

Chilli powder                –  1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder           – 1/4 tsp



Clean and cut kovakka into thin round pieces.  Chop shallots, green chillies, and garlic.

Heat oil in a pan, add chopped shallots and saute well till it becomes translucent. Add garlic, green chillies, and curry leaves.  Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute for a  while in low flame. Add chopped  kovakka and salt. Mix it well  close  the lid. Cook in low flame. Stir in between opening the lid. Once it is done, serve hot with rice.
