Ayla manga curry / Mackerel and raw mango curry


Fish (mackerel,ayeela) – 12 pieces
Shallots chopped – 1 /2 cup
Grated coconut -1 /2 cup
Red chili powder -3 tsp
Turmeric powder -1 /2 ts

Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Raw mango -1 no sliced
Ginger -1 inch piece
Garlic crushed – 2 pods
Curry leaves
Coconut oil – as required
Salt to taste


Grind the grated coconut,chili powder,turmeric powder and ,coriander powder with required water to a smooth consistency and keep a side.

Heat coconut oil in a pan. add shallots,garlic and ginger and fry till golden brown then add grated coconut paste and stir fry for a minute in a low flame. Add required water and the fish pieces and salt. bring slight boil .when it comes to a boil add the mango pieces.close the pan with a lid and let it cook till the fish is fully cooked add curry leaves and remove from fire.
