Masala dosa


White rice – 2 cup
Urad dal – 1 cup
Cooked rice – 1 /2 cup
Wash and soak rice and dal  for 4-6 hours. Grind them with enough water to make dosa batter .Then blend with cooked rice , add salt and keep for fermenting for 8-10 hours. Make dosa on hot tawa and spread little ghee over it.

 For masala

 Potato – 3 nos
Onion  chopped – 1no
Carrot chopped -1 no
Green chilli – 2 nos
Ginger – a small piece
Curry leaves – few
Coriander powder – 1 /2 tsp
Chillli powder -1 /2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 /4 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
salt as needed


Boil potato, peel and mash it,cook carrot with little salt and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan ,splutter mustard seeds. Add onion ,green chilli and curry leaves. Then add coriander powder, chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt . Then add cooked potato,  carrot and 3 tbsp water and mix well. Add coriander leaves . .Keep the potato masala in the middle and fold it from both sides. Serve with sambar or chutneys.
