Mathan curry ( pumpkin curry )

Mathanga  (  pumpkin  )    –   1 /2   no
Grated    coconut            –    1  cup
Green      chili                  –     2  nos
Cooking    oil                   –     2  tsp
Mustard                           –     1 /2    tsp
Kadala paripu (chana dal) –     1 /2    tsp
Uzunnu  parippu                –     1 /2   tsp
Asafotida                          –    1 pinch
Curry   leaves                    –     few
salt

Remove   skin and  seeds     of    matanga   (  pumpkin). Cut into  small   cubes. Heat  a  kadai,   pour some   oil,   add  .mustard   seeds,   wait   till  it splutters. Now add asafoetida  and kadala parippu,uzunnu  parippu. Saute   till   brown. Add  matanga. Sprinkle little water , salt  and cook it .

Grind   coconut   and green   chilli   in mixer   just   one or two whip is enough . Check if the mathanga   is cooked. Now mix curry leaves , coconut  and green chilli mixture  well . Cook for  5 minutes and turn  off    the  stove. Matanga  curry  is  ready to be served.
