Ingredients
Anchovies /Netholie – 1 /2 kg
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Ginger – 1 piece
Green chilli – 6 nos
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 /2 tsp
Small onions – 10 nos
Curry leaves
Kudampuli/Kokum- 3 pieces
Salt to taste
Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
Method
Remove the head and tail of the fish. Keep aside. Soak kudampuli in half cup of water for about 15 minutes.
Grind coconut, green chillies, small onions, ginger, chilli powder, and turmeric powder to a coarse paste without adding water. In a pan or munchatti, mix fish with ground coconut mixture, kudampuli, salt and curry leaves with your hands, then add 1 /2 cup of water and keep it in a medium flame till it starts to boil, then reduce the flame and pour coconut oil over it. Cook covered for about 10- 12 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
