Ingredients
Moong Dal – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 to 1 1/4 cups
Ghee – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder –
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
Almonds, chopped – 2 – 3 tbsp
Milk – 1/2 cup
Method
1. Dry roast moong dal for 3 minutes in a pressure cooker.
2. After 3 minutes, add hot boiling water. Mix well.
3. When water starts to boil, close the lid of pressure cooker.
Cook until 3 whistles. Switch off the stove.

10. Addition of ghee should be continued for 2 more times.
11. When mixture thickens, add milk. Cook for 5 minutes.
12. Add cardamom powder and nuts. Stir for 2-3 minutes.
Moong dal halwa is ready.
13. You can use moong dal halwa at this stage.
14. If you prefer to eat halwa in slices, spread ghee on to a cake
pan. Spread halwa using the back of a spoon. Add nuts on top. Let it sit for 3
hours.
