Ingredients
Bajji mulaku /Fry Banana – 8 nos
Besan flour/Kadala mavu – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method
Make a thick batter of besan flour, rice powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt. The consistency should be that of a dosa batter. Wash and pat dry the chillies. Make a slit in between. (Don’t open it completely, ends of the chillies should be intact).
Heat oil in a kadai, dip the chillies in the batter and fry on both sides to get a crispy texture and golden brown colour.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
