Mulaku chutta chamanthi/ Roasted Dry red chilli chamanthi

Ingredients

1) Dry red chillies      – 12 nos

2) Shallots            –  30 nos

Tamarind           – a small gooseberry size

3)  Salt   as needed

Sugar        – 2 pinch

4) Coconut oil  – 4 tsp

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pan. When oil is hot, add dry red chillies and fry.
  2. Transfer fried red chillies, shallots and tamarind to a blender. Grind them coarsely.
  3. Transfer chammanthi to a serving bowl.
  4. Add salt, sugar and coconut oil. Mix well and serve.
  5. Mulaku chutta Chammanthi goes well with rice and kappa vevichathu.

  4. very yummy and spicy dear, even my mom makes it but no sugar and instead of coconut oil its gingelly oil. Now iam going to try your version.

    I'm sure it would be super spicy, but at the same time it would be super tasty. I think i will have this with dosa or curd rice 🙂
