Muringayila Erissery l Moringa Leaf Curry


Muringayila / drumstick leaf / Moringa leaf – 3 cups

Toor dal – 1/4 cup

Grated coconut – 1 cup

Garlic – 6 cloves

Cumin seeds – 1 pinch

Chili powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

Coconut oil

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp

Dried red chilies – 3

Curry leaves

Grated coconut -1/4 cup


Grind coconut, garlic, cumin seeds, chilli powder and turmeric powder well.

Pressure cook toor dal in ½ cup of water. When it is cooked well, add ground mixture and moringa leaf. Cook for few minutes.

For tempering, pour oil. Add mustard seeds, red chillies, curry leaves, grated coconut to oil. Saute nicely. When coconut turns brown, pour this over curry.
