Pachakaya ularthu / Raw banana stir fry/ kaya ularthiyathu

Raw plantain
(Pachakaya) – 2 nos

Green chillies – 1 no

Curry leaves as needed


Chilly powder – 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Oil – 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp

Shallots, chopped – 10 no


Peel plantain and cut it into small pieces. Keep them in water for sometime to
remove stains. Pressure cook the cut pieces, green chillies, curry leaves,
salt, turmeric powder till one whistle. 

Heat oil in a
pan splutter mustard seeds,  sauté shallots.  when shallots turns
light brown in colour add chilly powder. 
then add cooked raw
banana and stir well . switch of the heat. Serve hot with rice, sambar , Moru
curry etc.
