Happy Onam to all my Friends and family. This Palada payasam is a sweet treat for this Onam.
Instant ada – 200gm
Milk – 1 1/4 liter
Sugar – 3/4 – 1 cup
Cardamom – 2 no crushed
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Wash and soak ada for 5 minutes. Heat water in a deep pan. When the water boils, add ada and cook well. Then drain the water. Add cold water, wash, and remove the starch from ada.
In a pan, boil the milk and keep aside;
Heat ghee in a pan. Fry cashewnuts and raisins. Keep this aside.
To the remaining ghee, add sugar and saute. Add ada and mix well and stir continuously. when the color of the ada changes to light yellow, add milk and stir. Close with a lid and cook in low flame. When payasam thickens, Add cardamom powderswitch off the stove.Garnish with cashews and raisines
