Papaya Curry


Papaya chopped – 1 small
Onion chopped – 1 small
Green chillies – 4 nos
Grated coconut – 1/2 of a coconut
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Garlic – 2 cloves
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Dry Red chillies – 2 nos
Shallots – 4 nos
Curry leaves


Pressure cook papaya, onion, and green chillies till one whistle. Grind grated coconut, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, and garlic. Release the steam and pour the ground mixture to the curry and allow it to boil. When it boils, switch off the stove. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, red chillies, shallots, curry leaves and pour over the curry. Serve hot with rice and chapathis.
