Pepper Chicken Masala


Chicken, cut into small pieces – 1 kg

Onion, cut into small chunks – 1 big

Ginger -2 inch pieces

Garlic – 6 cloves

Chili powder -1 tsp

Coriander powder -1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

Whole Peppercorn – 1 tbsp

Whole peppercorn, crushed – 1 tbsp

Cinnamon – 1 piece

Cloves – 5 

Salt – as required

Butter / Oil – 3 tbsp

Curry leaves – As required

Coriander leaves – ½ cup

Tomato, grind to paste – 2 


Grind onion, ginger, garlic, coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder and whole peppercorn to a fine paste. This is the marinade for chicken.

Marinate chicken with the prepared marinade. Keep it aside for an hour. 

After one hour, cook chicken till all the water is dried out. 

Heat butter in a pan. Add cinnamon, cloves, curry leaves, crushed peppercorns,
and ground tomato paste. Saute nicely till the tomato paste is cooked.

Now add cooked chicken to it.

Garnish with coriander leaves.
