Ragi powder/Finger millet and dates drink
This drink cools the body and is perfect as a summer drink. Also it is rich in iron and calcium making it an excellent energy drink.
Ingredients
Ragi powder/Finger millet powder – 4 tbsp
Banana cut into pieces – 2 nos
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Milk powder – 2 tbsp
Dates, remove the seed and cut into pieces – 1 cup
Milk – 2 cups
Water – 2 cups
Method
Soak dates in to 1/2 cup of water for 30 minutes.
In a blender, blend soaked dates, banana pieces, sugar, milk powder and 1 cup of milk to a smooth paste. Set this aside.
In a saucepan, add 1 cup of milk along with 2 cups of water. Add ragi powder to this. Allow it to boil. Let it cool. Now add the smooth paste which is set aside. Mix well. Serve hot or cold.
