Ragi drink/Finger millet drink

This is a healthy drink with goodness of ragi, milk, and shallots. This is rich in calcium and are good for people with blood sugar and anemia.   



Ragi powder- 8 tbsp
Water – 6 cups
Milk -.1 cup
Shallots – 2 tbsp
Ghee  – 2 tsp
Salt to taste


In a saucepan, combine ragi powder, water and salt. Place this on a stove top and bring it to a boil. When this is starts to thicken, add milk. When it is slightly thick, switch off the stove. Set this aside. 

Heat ghee in a pan, add shallots and fry them. When it is golden brown, switch off the stove and pour over the above ragi drink.  

This drink is slightly on the watery side, so that you can drink in glasses rather than a porridge bowl.
