Raw banana thoran is a nutritious dish that goes well with Rice, Sambar and Rasam.
INGREDIENTS
Raw banana/Pachakaya – 2
Grated coconut – ¾ cup
Green chillies – 4
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Garlic – 2 cloves
Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Red chillies – 2
Small onion – 4
Curry leaves
Salt
Oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel the banana and cut into square pieces. Soak it in salt water.
Grind grated coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds, garlic, and turmeric powder to a coarse paste. Set aside.
Cook raw banana along with salt, turmeric powder, and little water.
When banana is cooked, add the coarse coconut paste. Lower the flame.
Cook for 1-2 minutes. Switch off the stove.
Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chillies, shallots, and curry leaves.
When shallots turn brown in color, pour this over the curry.
Mix well and keep it on medium heat with lid on for 1 minute.
Yummy dish..feel to have it…
