Semiya Payasam / Vermicelli Kheer

Semiya  payasam


Vermicelli – 1 cup
milk  –  3  to 4 cup
Milk maid – 1 /2   cup
Cashew  nut –  1/4  cup
Raisins –  1/4 cup
Water –   1/2  cup
Cardamom  powder –  1 /2  tsp
Sugar    as required
Ghee –  3 tbsp

Cooking method

Roast the vermicelli in ghee.  Fry the cashews and raisins in ghee and keep aside. Boil milk and water in a pan  add required amount of sugar and mix well. Then add vermicelli in to the boiling milk and combine well. Reduce the heat and cook the vermicelli and add cardamom powder and milk maid.  finally add the fried cashews and raisins in to the payasam. Remove it from fire. Serve hot or cold .
