Ingredients
Bread pieces – as needed
Potatoes, boiled and peeled – 3 medium
Green peas, frozen- 1/2 cup
Tomato, chopped – 1 no
Onion, chopped – 1 no
Green chilli, chopped- 1 no
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Curry leaves – few
Method
Heat oil in a pan, Splutter mustard seeds. Add onion, green chillies and curry leaves. When onion turns translucent, add green peas and tomatoes. When the tomatoes are cooked and looks mashed, add turmeric powder, salt and boiled potatoes. Saute well. Switch off and keep aside.
For green chutney
Mint leaves – 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
Roasted chana dal/Pottukadala – 1/4 cup
Ginger – a small piece
Green chilli – 1 no
Garlic – 1 no
Salt to taste
Lime juice to taste
Sugar – 1/2 tsp

Green chutney |
Method
In a blender, add mint leaves, coriander leaves, roasted chana dal, ginger, green chilli, garlic and salt. Blend together to a smooth paste. Add lime juice and sugar. Mix well and keep aside.
Spread green chutney on to bread slices. Arrange potato masala and top it with sliced onion. Cover with another bread slice which is spread with green chutney. Smear little butter on top of the sandwiches. Place this on grill or toaster till they are golden brown. Cut into pieces. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and sprinkling of sev.
